Dr. Panos Kourouthanassis is Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, Ionian University, Corfu, Greece. He has also served as visiting lecturer to the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Hellenic Open University, and the University of the Aegean. Dr. Kourouthanassis holds a PhD in Information Systems, a MSc on Decision Sciences and a BSc on Computer Science. His main research interests lie in the areas of electronic government, electronic commerce, pervasive computing, and information systems management. He has published more than 70 articles in international journals, edited volumes and international conferences including Information and Management, the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, the International Journal of Electronic Commerce and the Journal of Information Technology. He has also served as guest editor in special issues of the International Journal of Electronic Commerce and the International Journal of Mobile Communications. He was member of the organizing committee of the International Conference on Mobile Business in 2010, while he has also served on the programme committees of numerous academic conferences. Dr. Kourouthanassis has extensive research and consulting experience. For the past fifteen years, he has been involved in more than 20 leading edge national and European research projects as project manager. He has also served as consultant of the Greek government on strategic priorities pertaining e-government and e-business.
