Dr. Georgios Zois

Senior Researcher

Dr. Georgios Zois is a senior researcher at ELTRUN/AUEB. He holds a BSc. diploma in Computer Science
from University of Ioannina (UoI)-Greece, a MSc. in Logic, Algorithms and Computation from
University of Athens (UoA)-Greece and a PhD from University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC-Paris
6)-France on the subject of algorithmic problems for energy and temperature-efficient computing.
His research work is focused on algorithm design and analysis for scheduling problems in large-data
computing environments, as well as on mathematical modeling and algorithms for resource and
location allocation optimization problems. He has worked as a R&D engineer and research associate
on several research (EU-funded) and industrial projects in transport and manufacturing areas, as
well as on basic-research projects on energy-aware scheduling, map-reduce scheduling and power
allocation in multiuser wireless communication systems. Since 2016 he is also an adjunct lecturer at
the Dept. of Informatics of AUEB, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses on theory of
algorithms and optimization techniques.
