Measuring the impact of e-banking on consumers lifestyle
Client: Piraeus bank
Project Duration: 1 Year (2010 -2011)
The aim of the project was to measure the benefit for the consumers from the use of the e-banking services of Piraeus bank (web, ATM, mobile, phone, easypay machines), in both quantitative and qualitative terms. In addition the project estimated the environmental impact (CO2 emission) of the use of e – banking services compared to the traditional way of conducting banking transactions in physical stores.
Different transaction scenarios were developed and empirical data were collected and fed an Activity-based costing model for the quantification of the transaction costs. In addition an extended survey was performed with more than 800 Piraeus bank customers in order to identify the main factors that affect consumers’ intention to use e-banking services.
